Le Studio

A very quiet, pretty and comfortable room comprising : the bedroom area with its super king-size double bed (180cm x 200cm) or twin beds ( 2 x 90cm x 200cm) - please let us know in advance which you prefer so we can arrange the room to suit you - plus a lovely bathroom with walk-in shower, vanitory unit, wc, and heated towel rail - and just round the corner you’ll find a delightful dining area for two, with a small but practical kitchenette with fridge, microwave, an induction hotplate, kettle, toaster, cafetière and of course a teapot (we are British!) and sink/drainer, plus cupboards with crockery/glasses/cutlery/pans/ kitchen tools etc. The table and two chairs allow you to relax and take a snack or drink (or breakfast if you prefer) with our amazing 180° view of the valley. If you are lucky, some early mornings or evenings you may see deer grazing amongst the vines, and can watch the morning mist curl over the forest on the hillside until the sun chases it away and the valley lights up. We love this view, it’s the main reason we moved here, so we hope you will too.

Le Studio also has its own south-facing outside terrace – fully fenced and safe with its own lockable entrance gate so you can come and go as you wish. There’s a BBQ, a table and 2 chairs, a sunblind and a flowerbed packed with roses, lavenders and ornamental grasses.

The 'continental' breakfast is available for 8 euros per person per night if you want some. Or maybe you would like to try a Full English Breakfast' (12 euros per person, per night) For those who prefer to sleep in, do not worry, we understand ........ you are on vacation!!

Vineyard View can provide ideal holiday accommodation for a couple or a single person, or two couples if both rooms are booked. Le Studio is big enough for a couple with a baby – we have a travel cot available at no extra charge.

Le Studio could also be ideal for someone with limited mobility as entrance from the car park, and the terrace as well as the actual room itself is flat making it highly accessible – however it is not suitable for wheelchair users I’m afraid

The history of Vineyard View

The original small stone farmhouse was built in 1910 and has had a couple of extensions since then. The land surrounding it used to all belong to the property, so it was relatively isolated with no neighbours overlooking the house, just its own fields and woodland. Water used to be collected from the natural spring in the valley and electricity arrived in the 1960’s. The previous owners were here from the 1960’s on and brought up 6 children – the eldest lives in the village still and has told us a little about life here. Her mother used to have to carry all the water up the hill ! And when we moved in 3 years ago there was still only one electrical plug! Madame finally had to move into a Home and sadly passed away and so eventually we purchased the property and moved in in July 2015.

The house was in need of modernisation – it was habitable but basic, but had a good ‘feel’ to it We have endured nearly three years of builders/ plumbers/ electricians/tilers /landscapers etc etc but it’s finished now and we just have to plant up the garden, and start a vegetable plot. We are also now the proud owners of an eco-friendly reedbed drainage system, fully compliant with today’s regulations, and the house has a high level of insulation plus the woodburner, so its cosy. The rooms all have good size electric radiators.

Vineyard View is a property that is both ancient and modern - we hope to welcome you here one day!
